ZSL Round UP: Eagles book continental slot as Arrows whitewash Nakambala

Choma was full of jubilation after Green Eagles secured Continental football thanks to a two nil win over Lumwana Radiants at the Independence Stadium. The Choma based came into the match looking to seal the continental football slot and possibly the top spof in Stream B.

First half goals from Warren Kunda and Kennedy Musonda were all that the Kawale boys needed to secure maximum points who saw them open a six point lead at the summit of Stream B. The win means they have qualified to play Continental football and the ABSA Cup, They may win Stream B tomorrow without kicking a ball should Buildcon fail to pick up maximum points.

In Kitwe, Austin Muwowo and Zikiru Adams inspired Forest Rangers to come back from two goals down to hold Power dynamos 2-2 away at Arthur Davies Stadium.

In Mazabuka, Relegated Maestro United Zambia held Napsa Stars to a goalless draw.

In Lusaka, Nkwazi’s Continental football dream was handed a big blow after a 2-2 draw with Circuit city. The Police sponsored out-fit needed a late goal from Emmanuel Chabula to hold relegation threatened Circuit City.

At Nkoloma, Red Arrows continued their hunt for continental football with a resounding three nil win over Nakambala Leopards. Sadamm Yousuf Phiri scored a brace while Bruce Musakanya converted from the spot to make sure Arrows move within a point of log leaders Kabwe Warriors.

Green Buffaloes came from a goal down to beat Kitwe United 2-1 to make sure they seal a place in the Super league for next season. Kiala Lassa put Kitwe United in the lead from the spot while Second half substitute Friday Samu levelled matters before Jack Chirwa could score a direct free kick to seal a 2-1 victory.

Toaster Nsabata made a horrendous error to allow Mighty Mufulira Wanderers to come back from a goal down to hold Sensational Zanaco to a one all draw.

Former Zanaco striker Kwame Attrame scored in the 56th minute to cancel out Chitiya Mususu’s first half half strike to level matters, 1-1 the match finished.

Zesco United will play Lusaka dynamos on Sunday as they look to reclaim top spot while Nkana and Buildcon will go head to head at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
