ZICTA Working With Police And Mobile Service Providers To Clamp Down On Fraudsters

The Zambia Information and Communication Technology-ZICTA- says it is working with the police and mobile service providers to ensure fraudsters purporting to be working for mobile service providers are brought to book.

And the authority has urged members of the public to be on high alert and avoid giving out details to fraudsters purporting to be working for mobile service providers

In an interview with Phoenix News, ZICTA Director General Patrick Mutimushi says ZICTA is aware of the scams going on and is working with mobile service providers to ensure customers’ rights are protected.

A scam has been unearthed in which conmen are calling individuals to send them their mobile money details pretending to be calling from customer care line in order to defraud them.
