Zesco United will be searching for their 8th league title this weekend as they will be playing the league decider against Green Eagles at Woodlands stadium in Lusaka.

The Ndola giants will be without striker Lazarus Kambole who completed his switch to South African side Kaizer Chiefs. Kenyan striker Jesse Jackson Were is expected to take up the responsibilities of the team.

The two strikers supplemented each other well and the burden was less for Were to bear. They formed a formidable combination and had a great understanding of each other.

Were is bubbling with confidence after helping Zesco United win the inaugural ABSA Cup, he put up a fine performance for the team and he was named player of the tournament. He finished the competition as a top scorer with 3 goals in 2 games.

The Kenyan goal-scoring prowess cannot be ignored, he managed to net 7 goals in the transition league for the power utility company sponsored side and will be expected to continue with his goalscoring form come Saturday.

He engraved his name in the history books of Zesco United as he is the club’s top with 76 goals and the fans expect their clubs all-time most prolific striker to lead them to a third consecutive title.
