Zesco to reduce loadshedding further
ZESCO says load-shedding is expected to further reduce by the end of this month on account of the coming on-stream of 300 MW from Maamba Collieries.
Zesco spokesperson Henry Kapata said the offloading of power onto the national grid would be done in stages of 150MW in a space of two weeks.
“We shall begin with the first 150MW into the grid; after about two weeks, we shall equally evacuate another 150MW into the grid, making it altogether 300MW. Come 30th June, we should be talking about 150MW into the grid when our partners are ready, and we are certainly looking forward in a reduction in load-shedding,” Kapata told Hot 87.7FM.
