Zesco to Play Kaizer Chiefs in CAF Cup

CAF Confederation Cup envoys Zesco United and Nkana have gotten their pairings for the pre-group stage of the competition.

Zesco United will face South African side Kaizer Chiefs while Nkana will play San Pedro of Ivory Coast.

Both Zambian sides will be at home in the first legs on the weekend of January 11-13.

Zesco United fell off to the Confederation Cup after losing 2-1 on aggregate to TP Mazembe while Nkana was eliminated by Simba of Tanzania.

Nkana beat Simba 2-1 at home but lost 3-1 in the second leg to drop to the Confederation Cup.

Kaizer Chiefs will be making their first trip to Zambia since 2000 when they faced Nchanga Rangers in Chingola in round of 16 tie that ended 0-0.

Zambia’s other continental envoys Green Buffaloes and Green Eagles crashed out in the last round.
