ZESCO THROUGH TO CCC GROUP STAGE

Zambia’s champions Zesco United football Club has qualified to the group stage of the CAF confederation cup.
This is after they beat Kaizer Chiefs of South Africa by two goals to one to end the aggregate five goals to two.
Zesco beat Chiefs by three goals to one in the first leg played a week ago at Ndola’s Levy Mwanawasa stadium.
Zesco scored in each half through Kenyan’s Anthony Akumu Agay in the 14th minute and Jesse Jackson Were in the 69th minute.
Zesco will now await the draws to learn who will be there opponents in the group stage of the tournament.
And after the match, Chiefs coach Enrst Midondorp blamed the loss on back to back fixtures by his club.
Meanwhile, Zesco United assistant coach Alfred Lupiya was happy with the qualification adding that the team will prepare adequately for the group stage.
And on Sunday, Nkana Football Club will take on San Pedro of Ivory Coast in the second leg of the CAF confederations cup fixture.
Nkana is carrying a three goals to nil advantage going in the final leg.
