Zesco, Lusaka Dynamos share spoils in Ndola

Defender Clement Mwape rescued a point for Zesco United as the Champions came from a goal down twice in an exciting 2-all draw against Lusaka Dynamos on Wednesday in a rescheduled league game.

Chris Mugalu gave Lusaka Dynamos an early lead in the eighth minute and two minutes later, the Congolese striker put the ball in the back of the net but the goal was disallowed for offside.

A minute later, Ghanian hitman Rahim Osumanu equalised for the Ndola side thanks to an assist from former Lusaka Dynamos winger Mwila Phiri.

The two sides went to break on level.

Three minutes after the break, Marvin Jere scored a scorcher to restore Lusaka Dynamos’ lead.

Zesco United coach George Lwandamina introduced Japanese midfielder Kosuke Nakamachi and Logic Ching’andu in search of a goal.

Defender Mwape scores late in the game to earn a point for ‘Zega Mambo’.

Both Zanaco and Lusaka Dynamos are on 23 points with the former having scored a staggering 29 goals compared to Zesco United and Lusaka Dynamos who notched in 20 and 18 goals respectively.

Unbeaten Kabwe Warriors are third on the log with 22 points while Zesco United are placed fourth on 21 points.

Completing the top five is Red Arrows who are unbeaten in their last 5 games. Arrows are a point behind Zesco.

Prison Leopards and Kitwe United are the two sides in the drop zone and are both on 7 points while Mufulira Wanderers has 9 points.

Nakambala Leopards and Green Buffaloes have 12 and 14 points respectively.
