Zesco, Kalampa arrive in the battlefield
Zambia’s CAF Confederations Cup envoys Zesco United and Nkana have arrived in Sudan and Ghana respectively ahead of the weekend matches.
Zesco United is camped at Khartoum’s Grand Holiday Villa while Nkana has been accommodated at Kumasi’s Golden Tulip Hotel.
The Zambian Champions will face AL Hilal Omdurman this Sunday, and Nkana have a date with Asante Kotoko on match day 4.
Both Al Hilal and Zesco are on 4 points with Nkana leading Group C on 6 points while Asante Kotoko is bottom on 3 points.
On match day 1, Zesco beat Nkana in Ndola but suffered a set back after a 2-1 defeat to Asante Kotoko in West Africa.
Over the weekend, ‘Team Ya Ziko’ had to come from behind to a earn a point against Al Hilal at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
After the clash in Khartoum, Zega will host Asante Kotoko on match day 5 in Ndola before making a short 45 minutes trip up the dual carriage way to Wusakile township in Kitwe in a final Group C match against glamour side Nkana.
Since that defeat to Zesco United, Nkana have collected maximum points against Al Hilal and Asante Kotoko at home.
Nkana, who have won the Zambian Super League title a record 12 times will travel to Sudan on match day 5 and face Al Hilal before hosting Zesco United.
