Zesco host Mazembe in CAF champions League

Zambian Champions Zesco United welcome the visit of Congolese giants TP Mazembe in a Group A CAF Champions League at Ndola on Saturday.

Zesco United will be hoping to maintain their unbeaten run in all competitions to against the Lubumbashi side.

The Ndola side have just dropped 2 points in the MTN Super League with 28 points.

The 2016 CAF Champions League semi finalist are wary of the test of five times African Champions TP Mazembe.

In the Mazembe camp, there’s a lot of Zambian flavour from Rainford Kalaba to Charles Musonda.

Nathan Sinkala, Thandi Mwape and current Chipolopolo Boys captain Kabaso Chongo are all on the books of the Moise Katumbi bankrolled side.

On the pitch, George Lwandamina’s will probably name a very experienced starting line up.

Jacob Banda is expected to start in goal.

The back four will pick itself with Simon Silwimba and Mwila Phiri as right and left full backs while Clement Mwape and Adrian Chama will be in central defence.

In midfield, Lwandamina will go for the experienced duo Kondwani Mtonga and Thabani Kamusoko. Misheck Chaila might start as a third midfielder.

Upfront, the trio Kola, Winstone Kalengo and Jesse Were will go head to head with Kabaso.

A win for Zesco United will see them go top to 4 points.

TP Mazembe demolished Zamalek on match day 1 while Zesco United played to a 1 all draw against Primero de Agosto.
