Zesco ExCom, Numba differ over South Sudan defender

Zesco United Executive Committee and head coach Numba Mumanga are believed to have differed over the signing of South Sudan defender Peter Maker Manyang, the ZamFoot Crew understands.

And the 27-year-old towering defender who stands at a height of 1.98m is yet to make an impact in the league.

He has to be contend with a place on the bench.

Numba’s preferred central defensive pairing has been Adrian Chama and Solomon Sakala.

“The problem with the defender is that he was brought to the club by the executive and not the coach,” an insider told the ZamFoot Crew.

And it seems like the executive are at logger head with the coach for not playing him.

Despite featuring for South Sudan during the last two international break, Manyang is struggling for game time in Ndola. He joined Zesco United from Munuki Sports Club.

He had also previously played at Al-Ghazal Sports Club in South Sudan between 2015 and 2018 and Amarat United in 2019.

Zesco United are yet to spark in the league. The Zambian Champions were eliminated from the CAF Champions League in the first round.
