Zesco Dispatch Al Ahly In CAF Group Opener
Zesco United handed Egyptian glamour side Al Ahly a 3-2 beating at Levy Stadium in Ndola in a CAF Champions League opening group match on Sunday.
The Egyptians arrived with a huge reputation as record winners of the competition, but were subdued by George Lwandamina’s side.
Al Ahly is coached by former Tottenham boss Martin Jol as coach. Clatous Chota put up a man of the match performance. Adrian Chama bagged a brace and John Ching’andu the other as Zesco Utd posted a morale boosting show.
George Lwandamina’s side started the match missing four key players in captain Jacob Senzo Banda, Ben Adama Bahn, Jesse Jackson and Idriss Ilunga Mbombo.
