ZDA Records Slowdown In Number Of Pledged Investments

By Prudence Siabana

The Zambia Development Agency-ZDA- has disclosed that it is currently recording a decline in the number of pledged investments since June 2021 as a result of the covid-19 pandemic and the upcoming August 12 general elections.

ZDA Board Chairperson Bishop David Masupa has however projected a pick-up in the number of investors coming to invest in the country in the month of September 2021.

In an interview with Phoenix News, Bishop Masupa dispelled assertions by members of the public that the slowdown in investment is a result of political violence being reported in some parts of the country ahead of next month’s polls.

Further, Bishop Masupa says the current stability and peaceful environment in Zambia and investor confidence in the governance structure continue to make it an attractive destination for investors.
