ZAS ACQUIRES LAND IN ZAMBIA

By Christabel Lumingu:The Association of Zambians in South Africa -ZAS- has acquired over one hundred and fifty hectares of land in Zambia for its members.ZAS- President Ferdinard Simanya says the initiative is aimed at helping Zambians living in that country to own land.Mr. Simanya says One Million Rands has so far been paid towards the purchase of the land located in Livingstone.He says the land will be for agricultural, commercial and residential use.And Zambia’s High Commissioner to South Africa Jackson Miti commended the Association for the initiative.General Miti described the program as progressive and timely.This is contained in a statement made available to ZNBC News by First Secretary for Press and Public Relations at the Zambian Embassy in South Africa Naomi Nyawali.
