ZANIS gets star link kit

The Smart Zambia Institute has handed over two Starlink kits to the Zambia News and Information Services -ZANIS- aimed at enhancing efficiency.
Receiving the kits on behalf of ZANIS, Ministry of Information and Media Permanent Secretary THABO KAWANA thanked the Smart Zambia for extending a hand that will improve service delivery.
Mr. KAWANA said ZANIS is at the epicentre, with its presence in all the One hundred 16 districts whose copy needs to be downloaded and processed at the headquarters in Lusaka daily.
The Permanent Secretary noted that the equipment is not only important to download news footage but also to motivate the staff to quickly relay information to the general public.
And Smart Zambia National Coordinator PERCY CHINYAMA noted that communication is one of the areas requiring improvements.
Mr. CHINYAMA said with the prevailing climate change challenges that the country is experiencing, ZANIS is key to efficiently and effectively disseminate government responses to the public.
He also commended the Ministry of Finance and National Planning which facilitated for the procurement of the kits.
