ZANAMACA SWITCHES TO GOLF

Zambia National Marketeers Credit Association -ZANAMACA- has held an Informal Sector Golf Fund Raising Tournament aimed at mobilizing resources to help marketeers who have been hit with economic hardships in the era of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The event which was graced by Sports, Youth, and Arts Minister Elvis Nkandu will be an annual event to provide funds for capitalization of the informal sector.

And Nkandu reaffirmed Government’s commitment to promoting the informal sector by supporting sporting events like the Golf Tournament which is another mark of peace and tourism in the country.

He said the new dawn administration has embarked on promoting the informal sector, by according it the deserved attention like the homegrown fundraising event.

Nkandu expressed confidence that more golfers will discover the value, experience, and important role the informal sector plays in economic development to the nation.

The Minister also appealed to stakeholders to work with the Government in supporting such community events to raise funds aimed at empowering marketeers and other traders across the country.

And ZANAMACA President Mupila Kameya said most of the 3 point 7 million Marketeers  across the country are limping in their endeavors to feed their families and support school-going children due to lack of financial support in terms of capitalization to grow businesses.

He however expressed optimism that the initiative to raise funds will support its members throughout the country to supplement the Government’s efforts.
