ZANAMACA calls for a permanent structure at Lusaka City market

December 13, 2019December 13, 201935By Patrick MulengaThe Zambia National Marketeers Credit Association -ZANAMACA – has called on Government to treat as an emergency the identification of investors to build markets and bus stations across the country.ZANAMACA President MUPILA KAMEYA says a number of markets and bus stations are dilapidated which is an hindrance to economic growth.Mr KAMEYA’s call follows the collapse of part of the LUSAKA CITY market structure, where over 18 buses were damaged after a heavy down pour yesterday.He has appealed to government to create a permanent structure, to avoid future calamities as the market has been hit twice.Mr KAMEYA was speaking in an interview with ZNBC News today.He has also called for concerted efforts from various cooperating partners and private sector to scale up resources in support of the Government towards the reconstruction of City market.He said this will help save millions of jobs in the informal sector.
