Zanaco v Nkwazi: Coaches pre-match reactions

Sensational Zanaco head coach Chris Kaunda is anticipating a tough game this afternoon as his side faces off with High Flying Nkwazi in a rescheduled week 20 encounter.

Kaunda says he knows Nkwazi well having worked with almost everyone at the club. Nkwazi beat Zanaco 3-2 in the reverse fixture at Nkoloma Stadium with Eric Chomba scoring a brace and Kaunda as head coach in of the Police sponsored side before his switch to Zanaco.

“It’s going to be a tough game, I know my boys from Nkwazi having worked with them,” Kaunda told Nkwazi media.

Nkwazi boss Dennis Makinka also expects a tough match against his ‘elder brother’ Chris Kaunda’s Zanaco.

Makinka however revealed that his team is ready for the match and that the morale in camp is high.

“It’s going to be tough, you know Coach Chris is my elder brother, he’s known me since I was a baby, but anyway my boys are ready. The morale is high though we have some injuries about 4 players are out of the Zanaco game. Our Target is to avoid defeat as you know points are very close between us and Kansanshi so we can’t afford to lose this game,” Makinka said.

Corona has really affected us in that we stayed for a long time without training, it’s not easy after a long lay off then boom you are back doing high-intensity training before the body is ready for that,” he added.

A win will take Zanaco closer to the top four while a win for the Policemen will take them further away from the relegation zone.

Kick-off for the match is at 15:00hrs at Sunset Stadium. The match will be played behind closed doors with no fans allowed in the stands.
