Sensational Zanaco will travel to Chipata next week for a ten-day Camp as they look to intensify their preparations for the 2019/2020 Super League season. Zanaco CEO Marlon Kananda revealed during a presentation of two technical bench additions in Kelvin Kaindu and Thomson Matenda.

Kananda has also revealed that the bankers were looking to clinch friendly games with teams from outside the country. The bankers are even prepared to travel outside the country to make sure they play one-two games with teams from outside Zambia.

“The team will be going to Chipata for preseason next week. With the physical trainer, these are issues we will be able to manage even if we were to camp locally. They will be there for ten days, ” he said.

“We are also planning on to have friendlies with outside teams when the team is back from Chipata. We want to prepare the team adequately. If it means us traveling outside the country so be it. We want to create an environment that will make Zanaco a formidable team, ” he added.

Kelvin Kaindu as joined the Zanaco technical bench as strikers coach and they have also roped in Zimbabwe national team physical trainer Thomson Matenda.

“Kaindu will be in charge of the strikers, Dabid will continue with the defenders, Kalumba continues with the goalkeepers and Robin will continue assisting Numba. Numba is the overall person,” Kananda said.

Kanada says the team they are building is for the future and not for instant results. Zanaco has signed nine players so far in preparation for the 2019/2020 season. Kananda has however revealed that they are not yet done.

“We are expecting one or two players to complete but if we don’t sign them we will be fine with what we have, ” he said.

Zanaco finished second in Stream A and will be participating in the CAF Confederation Cup.
