Zanaco and Chis Kaunda part ways

Zambia Super League side, Zanaco Football Club has part ways with head coach Chris Kaunda after reaching a mutual agreement.

Coach Kaunda joined the bankers in January 2020 taking over from now ZESCO United boss Mumamba Numba. ZANACO confirmed the development in a statement on their official website.

Kaunda has wished the club well ahead of the 2021/2022 CAF Champions League and Super League season.

“I wish Zanaco FC the best of luck, it’s a good Zambian side, I would also like to see the team succeed in the local league and CAF inter-club games,” he Kaunda.

Zanaco Football Club, acting General Manager, Roy Mutombo has thanked the coach for his contribution to the bankers and wished him well in his future endeavors.

“I would like to thank coach Chris Kaunda for his contribution to the bankers and wish him well in his future endeavors.”

Kaunda’s notable achievements were lifting the team from the relegation zone in the 2019/2020 season and qualifying the team to the first-ever CAF Confederations Cup quarter-finals.

Mr. Takatical was sent on administrative leave in May after a string of poor results. The bankers were second on the log at the time with 50 points, eight adrift of log leaders ZESCO United who had played two games less however they (Zanaco) suffered back to back defeats, first losing 2-1 to relegated Kitwe United at home before being humiliated by Buildcon 4-0 at Nkoloma.
