Opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) Lusaka Central parliamentary candidate Charlotte Scott says the people of Zambia are ready to usher the party into government.

Speaking when she featured on Power FM’s Power and Politics” Thursday June 9, 2016, monitored by Zambian Eye, Dr. Scott explained that the PF government has failed to improve the living standards of the people of Zambia.

She said the cost of living has skyrocketed, unemployment, the power deficit among other issues will compel citizens to change the government.

Dr. Scott also pledged to clean Lusaka Central as well as ensuring that the people have access to clean water and sanitation when voted into office.

She added that the UPND is the only party that is capable of fixing the challenges the people of Zambia are facing.

Dr Scott said the opposition party has a visionary leadership which the country is lacking.

She has since appealed to the electorates to voter for her and President Hakainde Hichilema on 11th August in order to eliminate poverty and move the country forward.

Meanwhile, Dr Scott says the referendum should not be held alongside the general elections.

She said there is need to sensitize people before the referendum is held.
