Zambians, let’s be vigilant – Chaile

THE protest against imaginary xenophobia on Chinese by PF cadres on the Copperbelt is a sign of desperation, says Radical Revolutionary Party president Vincent Chaile. He alleged that there was mining exploration going in ZAFFICO plantations and urged Zambians to be vigilant over their natural resources. Chaile, the former University of Zambia Students Union leader, said the ruling party which was once patriotic to the nation during Michael Satas time was now a front for the Chinese under President Edgar Lungu and his MMD colleagues.

On Tuesday hundreds of PF members in Ndola protested against UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema under a veil of a solidarity march for foreign investors into the country. Addressing the cadres, Copperbelt permanent secretary Bright Nundwe, a civil servant, advised security wings in the province to be on alert for any suspicious looking vehicles coming to the province to deal with them nicely.

The protest came in the wake of a PF and government officials chorus framing Hichilema for the riots over the alleged sale of ZAFFICO. Police have since summoned the opposition leader for questioning to help with investigations into the riots. PF Copperbelt youth chairman Nathan Chanda, who led the protest march, said it was in support of peace and unity and against incitement of xenophobic attacks on all foreign investors and riots in the province.

Commenting on the issue, Chaile said the ‘solidarity protest was an act of madness.

The protest against imaginary xenophobia on Chinese by paid PF cadres on the Copperbelt is a sign of desperation. The PF are trying to create an impression that PF is still popular and in control on the Copperbelt when they are not. PF, the party that was once patriotic to the Zambian people during Michael Sata is now a front for the Chinese under President Edgar Lungu and his MMD colleagues, Chaile said.

Surely what kind of madness is this? A ruling party protesting with passion against its own people in favour of Chinese and foreigners! If this government does not agree with its own citizens, the best favour President Lungu and his government can do to us is by ‘resigning on moral grounds, like what David Cameron did on Brexit rather than holding banners against your own people in favour of Chinese and foreigners.

Chaile said there was evidence that there were mining explorations going on in ZAFFICO plantations. He said conscious Zambians should not be intimidated or accused of being xenophobic for simply questioning Chinese interest in Zesco, ZNBC and ZAFFICO.

We have always said this and today I am vindicated by evidence found in ZAFFICO plantations showing that there is mining exploration going on. Truth be told, Chinese are not interested in trees but minerals under ZAFFICO plantations, period. All issues of listing are just a quick way of acquiring ownership, said Chaile. Chinese are not here to develop Zambia but they are here for minerals, period. All these Chinese shops and casinos seen around are just acting as fronts. The major occupation is mining. They are doing it symmetrically and gradually and soon unknowingly they will take over all our minerals. Zambians, lets be vigilant, we shouldnt be intimidated or accused of being xenophobic for simply questioning what is Chinese interest in Zesco, ZNBC and ZAFFICO.
