A consortium of political parties and Civil Society Organizations -CSOs- from Zambia and Kenya has committed to include persons with disabilities in the political processes at all levels of decision-making.
Consortium representative NAKU CHIVUNO says the collaboration is aimed at enhancing the participation of persons with disabilities in decision-making positions.
Speaking during an international engagement between Zambia and Kenya on enhancing political participation of persons with disabilities, Mr. CHIVUNO disclosed that the two parties have committed to showcase best practices of collaborations among political parties.
He said the meeting has also resolved to discourage non-progressive competition amongst political parties.
Mr. CHIVUNO has further disclosed that the parties have agreed to learn, share and identify opportunities and collaboration on disability inclusion amongst and within the political parties.
