Zambian government panics following HH’s letter to UN

Lungu with his Minister Kalaba

Lungu with his Minister Kalaba

There seems to be panic that has gripped the PF after opposition UPND President Hakainde Hichilema laid bare the schemes by President Lungu to circumvent the constitution by suspending it and rule by decree immediately after elections.

Mr. Hichilema wrote an official complaint to the UN AU SADC EU and selected Heads of State in the sub region, raising alarm bells at the impending plans by Lungu under the guise of “protecting peace”.

The UPND President charted many incidences by audio video and pictorial, of PF violence and various threats by Lungu that led to the  terrorisation of the opposition Party and it’s members.

Mr Lungu threatened early this week to do away with Democracy if that’s what it takes to protect ‘peace’.

Just this week the Human Rights Commission released a damning report against the PF Government, where it was reported that the UPND is the most Government terrorised opposition party in Africa ranking it  along  those of Uganda Eritrea and Zimbabwe.

Mr Harry Kalaba has attempted a hollow but emotional rebuttal of Hichilema’s letter accusing  him of “lacking patriotism” and “fearing to lose”.

The foreign affairs Minister however fails to deny Lungu’s threats of suspending the constitution and avoids to mention the PF’s violence on the UPND and instead ludicrously and ironically insits without any evidence how  Lungu has supposedly maintained peace and order.

The press release that is taking the rounds in the social media has been viciously attacked by a hoarde of bloggers who expressed outrage and disappointment at the lack of the barest truth on Harry Kalaba’s letter.
