A Climate Change Adaptation Specialist says Zambia should take advantage of its chairmanship of the African Group of Negotiators to champion for enhanced Climate Change Financing to Africa.

Mr. MARTIN SISHEKANU says this should be done at the forthcoming 27th Session of the Conference of the Parties (COP27) slated for Egypt.

Speaking to ZNBC News in an interview, Mr. SISHEKANU said Zambia and Africa have an opportunity to push an agenda that will benefit the continent in combating climate change effects.

He said Africa is heavily affected by Climate Change effects due to lack of capacity in both technology and finance.

Mr. SISHEKANU said technology transfer in climate change effects mitigation is another area of focus the continent should champion.

And Plant Scientist NOAH ZIMBA said ZAMBIA should mobilise African voices if it is to make effective contribution in Climate Change fight.

Mr. ZIMBA said the country should push for the implementation of actions which were agreed in previous meetings.

He said Africa should demand for pledges to be fulfilled or refuse to be part of agenda without action.
