‘Zambia too civilised to turn away genuine asylum-seekers’

ZAMBIA is a civilised member of the international community which cannot treat anyone unfairly, including Zimbabwean politician Tendai Biti, State House has said.Special Assistant to the President for Press and Public Relations Amos Chanda told journalists on Thursday night that there is no need for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees to be anxious that Mr Biti was denied asylum in Zambia.
“Zambia will not treat anyone unfairly. We are in touch with authorities in Harare. Zambia seeks to see peaceful return to normalcy in Zimbabwe,” Mr Chanda said.http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
