By Wilson Mulinda

Zambia in collaboration with the African Continental Free Trade Area –AfCFTA- Secretariat will host the inaugural AfCFTA Youth Symposium.

The event is scheduled to take place from 21st to 23rd August, 2023 at the Mulungushi International Conference Centre in Lusaka.

Ministry of Commerce Public Relations Officer MUSANDA KANGWA says the youth symposium will be held under the theme: Igniting the Future for Youth in Trade, in recognition of the commitment of the 13th Extraordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union.

Ms. KANGWA says the objective of the youth symposium is to create a platform for youths across Africa to have direct interactions with the Secretary General of the AfCFTA Secretariat, Policymakers, Opinion Leaders, Academia, and financial institutions.

In a statement issued to ZNBC News, she said the interactions will create a platform for the exchange of ideas on innovation, entrepreneurship, and achieving structural transformation that creates an enabling environment for inclusive trading under the AfCFA regime.

Ms. KANGWA said the symposium will also provide an opportunity to learn from experts, mentors, and role models who have succeeded in trade and development in Africa and beyond.
