Zambia to face Ivory Coast in Abu Dhabi

Zambia national team is expected to proceed to Abu Dhabi from Morocco to play an international friendly match against Cote D Ivoire on 19th June the ZamFoot Crew can reveal.

According to ZamFoot Crew sources at Football house, the Chipolopolo side which is currently in North Africa for three friendly matches will face 2015 Africa Cup of Nations Champions, Ivory Coast in Abu Dabhi.

The Beston Chambeshi tutored side played their first of three games on Sunday, Losing 2-1 to Cameroon. Mwape Musonda scored the consolation goal for Zambia, Opening his Copper Bullets goalscoring account.

The Morocco trip is an invitation from the Royal Moroccan Football Federation which is hosting the Copper Bullets from June 6 – 17 as part of the Memorandum of Understanding signed by the two countries back in 2017.

Morocco and Cameroon are using the friendly games against the 2012 AFCON Champions as preparation for the 2019 Egypt Africa Cup of Nations. Chambeshi, on the other hand, is using the games as part of the preparation for the U23 AFCON qualifier against Congo Brazzaville scheduled for September 5th.

The next game for Chipolopolo is scheduled for June 12th against the Gambia in Casablanca. The team will conclude its assignment with a match against the Herve Renard tutored Morocco on June 16.
