Zambia lose to Mali in a friendly match

Mali beat Zambia in a friendly match on Friday night in Bamako as the Chipolopolo Boys’ woes deepened.

El Bilal Toure scored the winner in the first half.

With head coach Aljosa Asanovic still involved in a stand off with the Football Association of Zambia, FAZ, assistant coach Moses Sichone took over the mantle in the West Africa.

In addition to Asanovic being awol, Sichone also had to do without the services of England based duo Patson Daka and Enock Mwepu.

In goal, Power Dynamos shot stopper Lawrence Mulenga got the nod ahead of Charles Kalumba. Toaster Nsabata was only fit for the bench.

The back four remained the same from the previous encounter while Miguel Changa Chaiwa started in the holding midfield role.

Emmanuel Banda and Kings Kangwa offered the attaching threat from midfield.

In attack Fashion Sakala was supported by Evans Kangwa and Edward Chilufya in attack.

Mali pinned Zambia in the early stages and got the rewards in the 7th minute with a well taken goal from Toure.

Zambia tried to come out of the shell but could not utilise their chances.

Mali and Zambia will face off again on Monday.
