Zambia held by Libya in final Pre-CHAN Preparatory match
The Zambia national soccer team was held to a 1 – 1 draw by Libya in a practice match played at Japoma Stadium in Cameroon.
This was the last of the Chipolopolo’s friendly matches ahead of the start of the tournament and both teams agreed to field two different team in both halves.
Chipolopolo coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojević saw his team play out to a goalless draw in the first stanza in a set-up that had attacking options that included Moses Phiri, Bruce Musakanya and Kelvin Kampamba. It was however a 50-50 affair with Libya coming close when a striker went round Allan Chibwe who had left his line only to be beaten at the by-line. Fortunately his defenders where in place to clear off the resultant strike from the square ball.

At the break, Micho introduced a team with what seemed to be a more fluid midfield. With Golden Mwafwenta and Collins Sikombe running the show in midfield, Zambia looked to be more in control of the game.
The high press paid off when Paul Katema won the ball on top of the box to dash into the box with the goalkeeper at his mercy. He calmly picked he spot just beyond the reach of the goalie for the opener in the 78th minute.

With Zambia looking good to pick a win, Lameck Siame was caught flat footed when what seemed to be an aimless short beat him as he was getting back into position with only two minutes to play.
Zambia will go into the opener against Tanzania on Tuesday next week having played four games while in Cameron. They lost one against Uganda, beat Cameroon and drew against Niger and Libya.
