A footballer from Cameroon says Zambian football needs a lot of investment and support from the corporate world if it is to go back to its former glory days.
Malik Njoya says with more investment and sponsorship players will be motivated to put in hundred percent performance at club and national level.
The player who has stayed and played football in Zambia for over two years with Monze Swallows however says Zambia is a footballing nation that cannot even be compared to Cameroon.
Njoya was speaking to ZNBC News after he emerged top scorer with six goals and player of the tournament during the Francis Chipasha sponsored Kafue Madala football tournament.
And speaking at the prize giving ceremony Kafue district commissioner Joseph Kamana called for more support from the corporate world in order to improve various sports disciplines.
Meanwhile, Kafue Madalas Football Chairman Samuel Banda has promised a big even this that will allow more teams to participate.
At the same event 15-year-old upcoming referee Martin Sinkala walked away with a two-hundred-kwacha cash for being voted best referee.
