THE Zambia national netball team yesterday produced one of the finest performances to edge favourites Malawi and put their hopes of qualifying for the World Cup back on track. The team made a remarkable recovery following their disastrous 64 – 41 defeat at the hands of Zimbabwe on Wednesday.
It was the oldest player of the tournament, Diana Banda (38), who inspired Zambia to a third victory in this tightly contested match which the hosts needed to win to keep the dream of qualifying for the World Cup and lifting the continental trophy alive.
As expected, Malawi led by their inspirational goal shooter Joyce Mvula, started on a better note and led the first quarter 17 – 14.http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
