Zambia assumes security chairmanship

Zambia has assumed the chairmanship of the African Union Peace and Safety Council for the month of August.
Zambia’s Ambassador to Ethiopia, Susan Sikaneta will chair the meetings on behalf of Zambia.
Here’s the second time that Zambia is chairing the Peace and Safety Council, organ of the African Union responsible of peace and security since changing proper into a member of the council three years ago.
And Ms. Sikaneta said one of the fundamental crucial items on the agenda comprise the preparation for the Amnesty Month in the case of silencing the weapons on the continent.
