ZAMBEZI CHIEFS CALL FOR MORE TEACHERS

Traditional leaders in Zambezi District have called on government to deploy more teachers in the district to help meet the growing number of learners.

Speaking on behalf of the Traditional leaders, Chief Ishima of the Lunda people said the growing number of learners is putting pressure on the number of teachers in most schools.

Chief Ishima further revealed that traditional leaders in the District have resolved to support President Edgar Lungu and the Patriotic Front in the 2021 general election.

He said the traditional leadership will work with the government of the day as it is the only way the district will develop.

Chief Ishima was speaking when Vice President Inonge Wina met traditional leaders among them, Chief Chinyama and Chieftainess Nyakulenga in Zambezi District.

He said the PF government has proved that it has the capacity to develop the nation.

And Mrs. Wina said government will look into the current teacher shortage being experienced in the district.
