The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) Players Status and transfer Committee has awarded Kafue based Young Green Eagles three points after docking Yeta for using an ineligible player.

According to Statement from Football House accessed by the ZamFoot Crew, Yeta fielded two ineligible players namely Mwangala Siyanga and Blessings Mwamba whose images did not correspond with the ones on the FAZ cards in their Week 23 league fixture on 12th May 2019 against Young Green Eagles.

“The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) Player Status and transfer Committee has docked three points from Division One Zone Four team Yeta Football Club of Mongu after being found guilty of using two ineligible players in their Week 23 league fixture on 12th May 2019 against Young Green Eagles.

According to the ruling by the FAZ Player Status and transfer Committee, Yeta Football Club fielded two ineligible players namely Mwangala Siyanga and Blessings Mwamba whose images did not correspond with the ones on the FAZ cards.”

Eagles lodged a complaint with FAZ after they realized that the faces of the players and those on the cards did not tally. When Yeta was summoned, Their defense was that since there was no video footage, the allegations were not true. They failed to address the fact that the pictures were produced by the complainant to show that the faces of the players were different.

“Yeta Football Club had the opportunity to address these allegations but their defense is that since there was no video footage, the allegations are not true. They have failed to address the fact that the pictures were produced by the complainant to show that the faces of the players were different. An opportunity was given to Yeta Football Club to come and address these allegations but they declined to do so,” reads part of the statement.

The Committee concluded that Yeta used two ineligible players and decided to award Young Green Eagles three points and three goals.

“It is evident that Yeta Football Club used unregistered players in the game against Young Green Eagles on 12th May 2019 in direct contravention of the rules. Consequently, we find for the complainant in this matter and we award three points to Young Green Eagles Football Club via a 3-0 scoreline as per Article 77 of the FAZ Constitution.”

After the three points, Young Green Eagles move to 66 points and will now play Kansanshi Dynamos on Saturday (July 6, 2019) in the playoffs instead of Zesco Shockers. The other fixture pits National Assembly and Kabwe Youth Academy.
