Yanga survive Red Arrows scare

Young Africans came from a goal down to beat Red Arrows 2-1 in a friendly on Sunday at Dar es Salaam’s Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.

Striker Ricky Banda’s well taken header silenced the home crowd in the fifth minute.

Yanga pushed for an equaliser with by Clatous Chota Chama running the show but to no unveil.

After the break, Yanga made two key substitutions with Aziz Ki and Kennedy Musonda introduce.

Arrows were reduced to 10 men following Nickson Mubili’s sending off after receiving a second yellow.

Cheered by nearly 60,000 fans, the Tanzanian Champions got their breakthrough in the 63rd minute with a wonderful striker from Mudathir.

As expected, Yanga was awarded an injury time controversial penalty which master Ki converted.
