YALUMA ON AfCFTA

Government says the Africa Continental Free Trade Area -AfCFTA- provides opportunities capable of changing Zambia’s economic profile.

Commerce, Trade and Industry Minister Christopher Yaluma says AfCFTA will enable Zambia generate numerous jobs and sufficient wealth to propel the economy to greater heights.

Mr. Yaluma says local SMEs and Manufacturers have been trained and oriented to participate fully in the trade arrangements.

He told ZNBC News in Lusaka that Zambia is ready and equipped for the AfCFTA which government ratified recently.

And Mr. Yaluma disclosed that 33 companies have signed up under the Buy Zambia Campaign agreement which seeks to promote consumption of locally produced products and services.

Mr. Yaluma said over 500 local products have been listed under the campaign.

He said tremendous success has been recorded under the Buy Zambia Campaign enforced by various policies.
