Yasa Queens hosted Nkwazi on 29th June, 2019 in a Week 19 Encounter played at Yasa Grounds which saw the Police sponsoredo outfit condemned to a 2 – 1 defeat as Yasa completed a double both home and away over the Women in Uniform courtesy of goals from Onneile Thanda and Florence Kasonde while Nkwazi scored their consolation through Siyomala Mapepe.

In the reverse fixture, The Police Outfit lost by a goal to nil at their backyard and found it even harder and struggled to go back home with maximum points as first-half goals from Thanda and Club top goalscorer Kasonde were all that the Coach Mervis Nachinga drilled side needed to send Nkwazi back to the drawing board who played the 4th game without their Coach Patrick Mundia Lubinda who has been unwell from the time they Played against National Assembly on 1st June 2019.

The absence of Coach Mundia was felt coming up against a stubborn Yasa side who have been impressive this season making it difficult for Standing in Coach Danny to pick up the desired result.

Mapepe who was putting on the captain’s armband scored the only goal for Nkwazi in the second half and she could have turned out to be the hero for her team but wasted two great scoring opportunities towards the end of the match thanks to quick reaction from the home team’s defense who made sure they frustrate her by covering the goal.

Yasa did the required business in the first half even though they could have added to their tally but Azed Phiri and company made sure they closed up some loopholes. In the second half Christine Nyirongo, Thanda and Kasonde were not given room to find the back of the net.

It was not a convincing win and play for Yasa and Coach Nachinga admitted that her charges did not play very well but it’s the result that counts and that was all which mattered the most while for Nkwazi they will have themselves to blame as they had chances to restore parity and could have even won the game but were not clinical in front of Goal.

Coach Danny will have to quickly reorganize his side ahead of yet another tricky encounter away to Luyando Foundation at Kanyama Grounds this coming weekend.

Meanwhile, elsewhere in other results, Olympic Flying Queens and Chiparamba Breakthrough suffered similar 1 – 2 home defeats at the hands of Luyando Foundation and Parmalat respectively whereas National Assembly recorded a walkover victory against Lusaka United. 3 matches were not played because of players’ engagement with the Women’s National Team camp and others involved at the Inter-Provincial school games which are currently underway in Chipata, Eastern Province.
