Green Buffaloes Women Football Club coach Charles Haalubono has described the current season has being different from the previous ones were they would score so many goals and has said the departure of Barbra Banda who is on the books of Spanish side EDF Logrono has affected the teams’ scoring abilities as they have not been scoring as many goals as they used to in the past.

Haalubono believes this is because the team don’t have a natural finisher at the club. New recruit from Bauleni Queens Lydia Mubanga who is a natural striker has been struggling to recover from an injury and has only made 4 Appearances for the Soldiers in the 2019 Season.

“At the moment we will have to work with the players that we have because getting players from other teams is proving to be so difficult others don’t want to release players to Green Buffaloes very few teams are willing to give us players so we just have to work with what we have. We are only receiving support from Bauleni and Pamalat,” Haalubono told the ZamFoot Crew in an interview.

Coach Haalubono described the first round of matches as being tough because it was characterized by experiments and changes which prompted him in some games to even put a defender as a striker but is happy that it has yielded the much needed results.

He is happy with the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) development programmes in Women football and commended them for the league opener Charity Shield which was won by Buffaloes. Haalubono is hopeful that it was the starting point for more and great things to come.

Green Buffaloes are the current log leaders in the FAZ Women’s League Lusaka Region on 39 Points from 13 games played and their next assignment in the league will be an away fixture return match against Bauleni Queens this weekend.
