Women’s League: Four teams pre-season tourney to set Kitwe alight

Nkana Stadium in Kitwe will this weekend come to light when 4 of the best teams on the Copperbelt Province takes to the pitch to lock horns in a Mini Football Tournament organized by Nkana Women’s Football Club as preparations for the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) Women’s League hits up with various teams declaring themselves ready by way of engaging in pre-season matches around the country.

The Tournament which was scheduled for this Sunday was brought forward to Saturday in order to pave way for Young Nkana who will be in action on the same day in a Lower Division match.

The Tournament which is slated for Nkana Stadium this Saturday, 9th November 2019 is aimed at encouraging girls to value and consider education and sports as the best way to fight and stay away from vices and other illicit activities that have a negative impact on their daily activities has attracted 4 teams who are expected to take part which includes the 2019 Copperbelt Region Champions Indeni Roses, Runners-up Zesco United Women’s Football Club, Kitwe Girls Academy, and the hosts Nkana Women’s Football Club.

According to a letter availed to the ZamFoot Crew by Nkana Queens Coach Sarah Daka, a total of 6 matches will be played and each team will be involved in 3 games against each other with the winner being decided based on the highest number of points accumulated in their games.

The first match which is expected to kick-off at 09:00hrs will see the host Nkana and Indeni Roses coming head to head for the 4th time this year and will be followed by Kitwe Girls against Zesco Girls.
