By Mary Mwinga:Gender Minister Elizabeth Phiri says women need to be encouraged to utilise online networking platforms in order to grow their businesses.Mrs. Phiri says through networking women and the youth will be able to grasp new ideas and be abreast with the ever changing trends of marketing strategies.She says government wants to see women empowerered with real time information on financial and non finacial services.Mrs. Phiri was speaking during the National Launch of the 50 million African Women seek platform for Zambia in Lusaka today.The 50 million AfricanĀ  women speak platform includes 38 countries and women on the platform will interact with over eight hundred million other women and youth.Mrs. Phiri said the platform will greatly contribute to the attainment of Gender equality in line with the the sustainable development goals.She said the project has potential to transform the role thatĀ  women and youth entrepreneurs play in the country an africa as a whole.Mrs. Phiri further said the platform will provide women with one stop information on financial services.After the launch Mrs. Phiri signed on to the website which is www.womenconnect.org.Meanwhile, Ministry of Gender Permanent Secretary Sastone Silomba said the platform will help to attain the realisation of equity and equality as women will be able to access information easily.
