” We Will Pay Adams The K414,000 ($28,000)”- NKANA FC

Nkana FC CEO Charles Chakatazya has said that the club will pay the clubs former player in Ghanaian Goalkeeper Stephen Adams the $28,000 it owes him.

This is after the Kitwe based Giants were among five African clubs that were handed two transfer window bans on Tuesday the 25th of February 2020 after they were found guilty of having broken FIFA player statutes regulations.

For Nkana it was due to the fact that Adams had reported the club to FIFA for unlawfully terminating his contract in June 2018 just 6 months into the deal.

Nkana FC CEO Charles Chakatazya weighed in on the subject and explained that Nkana would pay the player his money and the issue of him not having received the money was just an problem with the club not having proper financial details of the player.

” Yes we received the letter from FIFA yesterday ( Tuesday) and they have informed us that we have been banned from buying players for two transfer windows but the issue why we didnt pay him the money is because we asked for the details of how to send to Ghana last year and we didnt receive the proper financial details so thats why we couldn’t send” Said Chakatazya.

” We will however send the money and its not an issue and we have been told that the ban will be lifted if we pay the player and the actual amount is $25,000 but it rises to just about $28,000 because we have also been told to add some other moneys which also include 5% of the initial amount” Added Chakatazya

Adams who was part of the Ghanaian National Team at the 2014 FIFA World Cup joined Nkana FC in January 2018 from Ghanian Club Aduana Stars on a 3 year deal but by June 2018 he had hardly played any matches and the Kitwe based side released him together with seven other players resulting in him reporting the club to FIFA for unjust termination of contract.
