We will miss Kambole and Tandi – Numba

Chipolopolo boys assistant coach Numba Mumamba believes the team will miss new Kaizer Chiefs signing Lazarus Kambole and new TP Mazembe defender Tandi Mwape as they begin their preparations for the first leg of the final round of qualifiers for the 2020 Cameroon African Nations Championship (CHAN).

Numba is however confident the replacements will do the job and beat Botswana away in Francis Town.

“We will miss those guys ( Lazarus Kambole and Tandi Mwape) because they were valuable to the team but it’s every player dream to play abroad. It’s good for their careers. We have looked around for replacements and we just have to work on the team that we have so that we can go to Botswana and get a win, ” he said.

The Copper Bullets have just 18 days to prepare for the first leg but Numba is confident that is enough time to prepare.

“We have 18 days before we play Botswana I think it’s enough time to prepare, ” he said.

The Copper Bullets will travel to South Africa in their final week of preparations to play a number of friendly matches before traveling to Francis Town.

“In the third week, we will think of playing friendly matches because by then the team will be ready. We are discussing with the head coach on a possibility of going to South Africa for a few friendlies before proceeding to Botswana,” he said.

Numba is drilling the team in the absence of Aggrey Chiyangi who is away with Green Eagles in Rwanda at the CECAFA Inter-Club championship.

Zambia will play Botswana away on July 27 before hosting the Zebras on August 3 in the final qualifying round for the Cameroon 2020 African Nations Championship.
