We want to hire a permanent coach says FAZ GS

The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) says the Beston Chambeshi-led national team technical bench’s mandate has come to an end after the Chipolopolo’s elimination from the World Cup qualifiers.

FAZ general secretary Adrian Kashala said the technical bench was hired on a temporary period which has since expired after the first round of the World Cup qualifiers.

Kashala said the association through the executive committee and the technical committee, has since started working on the recruitment of a permanent Chipolopolo coach.

“I am sure you are aware that the just-ended first round of the World Cup qualifiers we hired temporary coaches and at the end of it all it’s time that FAZ acted on having a permanent coach and true to the public’s assertions, the executive is actually very keen to ensure that we have a permanent coach,” he said.

Kashala said the national team has had no permanent coach from the time Serbian Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredjovic left and it is time that FAZ got a substantive trainer.

“I am sure of late we have not had a permanent coach apart from Micho, but after his departure, we got few coaches to sit in for a period of preliminary World Cup qualifiers,”
