Zambia Super League side and 13-time Champions, Kalampa, Nkana head coach Kelvin Kaindu says his side needs some more ammunition to compete favorably in the continental games.

Nkana qualified to the groups stage following a 3-2 aggregate win over Moroccan side, Tihad Athlétique Sport (TAS) De Casablanca of Morocco

“In terms of the depth of the team I think we are not yet there, if you saw in the second half we made some tactical changes, when we started we didn’t want to play with two central defenders but they started playing long balls because we were already trailing with one zero but in the second half we changed tactics,” he said.

“So if you talk about the teams’ depth we need to bring two defenders instead of a midfielder for a midfielder so at the end of the day it was very dividend we managed to score a goal,” he added.

Meanwhile, Kaindu was also quick to talk about the bias officiating which his side was given.

“The way the game was officiated made the game very difficult, we so the intimidation from the officials but at the end of the day, we showed character and qualified, ” Kaindu said.

Captain Kelvin Moyo said the match officials could not even speak English.

“The officiating was not good they were not even speaking English so most of the fouls were against us but you know with God anything is possible,” he said.

Nkana is placed in group D Raja Casablanca of Morroco, Pyramids of Egypt, and is still waiting for the winner between Namungo FC of Tanzania and Agosto of Angola.

Inform striker and a scorer on their goal in the 2-1 loss to Tas Casablanca Simon Mulenga said his dream is to play the final.

“I thank God for the goal I scored, my goal meant a lot to the team, we trust and believe that we will go to the final.”

The first group match for Nkana will be away in Egypt when they will visit the “30 June stadium” on 10th March 2021.
