We are ready for the tournament – Nali

Zambia National Women’s Soccer Team Goalkeeper Hazel Nali says the team is prepared and ready for the COSAFA tournament.

Nali who is also the vice-captain of the side told the ZamFoot Crew in an interview that the team’s target is to do better than last year by reaching the finals.

“I think we are ready for the tournament. Our main target right now is to reach the finals at least we have experienced the 3rd position but this time around we want to get a place in the finals,” she said.

She has called on her teammates to work hard and win all the games in the group stages as there are no pushovers because football is changing every day and all the teams in the tournament are ready and aiming high.

“The group is just fair and all the teams are ready so we just have to work hard and win all the games in the group stages. Football is changing every day and I can’t say there’s a team that will just play like a walk-over game because every team in the competition is aiming high and everyone is putting in their best so we just have to work hard and make sure we get 3 points in each and every game we play,” She said.

The coach Bruce Mwape drilled side is in Group B alongside Mauritius, Namibia, and Botswana and they will start their COSAFA Championship Campaign against Mauritius on 1st August before Battling it Out with Namibia On 3rd August and will conclude the group matches with Botswana on 6th August.

The 2019 COSAFA Senior Women’s Championship starts on 31st July – 11th August and will be staged in Nelson Mandela Bay and Entry for the games is free.
