RESPONSE TO COVID- 19 OUTBREAK

Mufulira Wanderers FC has been paying keen attention to the effects that the global pandemic of COVID-19 has had on our club, community and the nation at large so far. The health and wellbeing of our players, staff, their families, tenants, and business partners are of the utmost importance to us.

As a club, we are directly responsible for 54 people, who include our players, technical bench, general workers and management team. Therefore, taking into consideration the guidelines from the Ministry of Health and the presidential directives, we have taken the following steps to do our part in the fight against COVID-19:

1. All of our players and staff are continuously being sensitized about preventative measures i.e washing of hands, social distancing, avoiding touching their faces as well as self-isolation and testing in the event that one experiences any of the symptoms.

2. Hand washing stations have been established at all points of entry on our premises. i.e stadium, clubhouse, offices, and a camp house.

3. All group training for Mufulira Wanderers’ main team, Mufulira Wanderers Womens, and Young Mufulira Wanderers have been suspended.

4. Our clubhouse has been shut down.

5. We have reduced the number of staff working on our premises by implementing a work from home policy (where possible), enforcing a rotational duty rota (where possible) and placing some workers on paid leave.

In that regard please note that during this period, our administrative team can be contacted on 0962-691916 (both calls and WhatsApp) during office hours.

In a bid to also help our community during this trying time, we have decided to waiver any tenancy payments for the month of April, for those businesses on our premises that may be forced to shut down because of the fight against COVID-19.

LET’S ALL DO OUR PART IN THIS FIGHT. REMEMBER TO:

• Wash your hands frequently with water and soap. And use an alcohol-based sanitizer.

• Practice social distancing

• Stay home and avoid unnecessary movements.
