Vubwi records three new cholera cases

Vumbwi district has recorded three new Cholera cases bringing the cumulative number to 31 .

And Zambia National Public Health Institute -ZNPHI-Director Communication, Information and Research MAZYANGA LIWEWE says the three new patients have been admitted at Vubwi district hospital.

Ms. LIWEWE has told ZNBC news in Eastern province that currently there are five Cholera patients admitted of which one is an expectant mother and a child under the age of 3.

She added that ZNPHI is working closely with the ministry of health to put immediate interventions to curb the spread of the disease.

Ms . LIWEWE says so far over Nine thousand Four Hundred people have been vaccinated against Cholera in the last TWO days.

This follows an outbreak of the waterborne disease in the neighboring Malawi and Mozambique.
