VOTER APATHY FEARED IN SESHEKE

A youth non-governmental organisation fears voter apathy in the February 12 parliamentary by election in Sesheke because of some pockets of violence that have characterised the campaigns.
Pillars of Peace Zambia National Youth Coordinator Wilfred Chilufya says voter apathy is mostly caused by violence as the electorate do not turn up fearing for their lives.
He told ZNBC news that it is important for politicians to put Zambia first as it is bigger than any political party.
Mr. Chilufya adds that politicians should concentrate on selling their policies that will bring about development in the constituency and the country.
He also says the importation of cadres to areas going for elections should come to end as it is the major cause of political violence.
Mr. Chilufya has further advised youths to desist from being used as tools of violence.
