Chongwe UPND parliamentary candidate Sylvia Masebo has urged Lusaka’s Kanyama residents to vote for UPND Presidential Candidate, Hakainde Hichilema because he doesn’t drink Jameson (Whiskey).
Masebo, who was speaking to thousands of UPND supporters who gathered at Twashuka Grounds in Kanyama constituency on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 also bemoaned violence that has characterized the campaign period.
Masebo who spoke in Nyanja also urged Kanyama residents to wake up early to go and cast a vote for UPND: “Muvotekele HH bantu ba mwa Kanyama, chifukwa samamwa Jameson [Vote for HH people of Kanyama because he doesn’t drink Jameson],” Masebo spoke as the crowd ululated. “Muka nyamuke ku seniseni pa 11th August, mukayende mukavotele UPND [Wake up early on 11THAugust, go and vote for UPND].”
At the same function, UPND National Chairperson, Mutale Nalumango, castigated Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia (EFZ) President, Reverend Pukuta Mwanza, for allegedly supporting and aligning himself with the Patriotic Front (PF).
“You must be ashamed of yourselves to call yourselves ‘Christian for Lungu,’ what type of Christians align themselves to an inindividual? And this Pukuta, you know what happened today; the Lawyers had a march past and invited all church mother bodies but only EFZ was absent. This Pukuta Mwanza wants to be a player and a referee at the same time. He is supporting Edgar Lungu and wants to call us and become a mediator….have you ever seen such?” Nalumango asked.
“I am a bible-believing and tongue-speaking Christian. They must stop lying that HH is not a Christian. We shall see them by their fruits.”
