Visually impaired boy drops out of school

By Moombe Hamoobola

An eight year old visually impaired boy has dropped out of school after his father sold the bicycle that was being used to transport him.

A Non-Governmental Organisation, Quadripoint Communications, donated the bicycle to the boy for his transport to school which however, the father has sold and money spent on alcohol.

In January this year, the Ministry of Education found a place for the boy at Christ the King Primary School after ZNBC news ran a story that the boy was not attending school due to the long distance to access special education.

However, it was later reported that the boy has not been going to school for two terms prompting the officials from the District Education Board to follow up the matter.
